Chris Michael, The Bronx New York native began his artistic career at a young age, appearing in productions including the Off-Broadway play The Harlem Renaissance, a Coca-Cola commercial directed by John Singleton, an ABC after-school special alongside Tony Danza, and New York Undercover by Dick Wolf. These early opportunities inspired him to pursue his dream of becoming a choreographer and dancer.

Chris landed his first professional dance opportunity on MTV’s The Grind, which led to recurring appearances on MTV Global Grooves and Say What Karaoke. He later appeared in music videos for artists including Queen Latifah, Monica, Jr. M.A.F.I.A. featuring Aaliyah, The Notorious B.I.G. featuring Lil’ Kim, and Busta Rhymes. Chris also choreographed Lil’ Mo’s “Dem Boyz” music video before relocating to Baltimore, Maryland to work as choreographer for R&B artist Lil’ Mo.

Since then, Chris has continued pursuing his passion as a singer, songwriter, screenwriter, choreographer, and performer. His work has included appearances in Disney’s Step Up 2, HBO’s House of Cards, and features connected to the Wayans Brothers’ film Dance Flick. He has also choreographed and provided background vocals for gospel artist J Moss during BET and TV One performances. Most recently, Chris toured as choreographer and dancer for comedian Katt Williams.

After many years away, Chris is excited to return to his home studio, where he previously taught Street Jazz and Hip Hop at Karen Sachs Academy of Dance for over 10 years.
