Charles Way, a Baltimore native, began formal training at the age of 17 with Mid-Atlantic Youth Ballet. He continued his training in Philadelphia at The Rock School after graduating with a BFA in Ballet Performance from The University of The Arts. During his time there and shortly after, performed and trained with companies such as: Pennsylvania Ballet, Eleone Dance Theatre, Koresh Dance Company, Lustig Dance Theatre, and BalletX. Eventually transitioning from concert work into commercial work, Charles appeared as a contestant on SYTYCD Season 11. Deciding to pursue further, toured both nationally as well as internationally with several production companies such as: RWS (Holland America Line), iLuminate (America’s Got Talent), and Live Nation. With this dual background, has been able to transition into musical theatre. Charles has performed and toured with several shows: Jimmy Buffets Escape to Margaritaville (Ogunquit Playhouse/Ensemble), Catch Me If You Can (The Rev/Ensemble), Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill: The Musical (1NT/Dance Captain/Swing), and MJ: The Musical (1NT & Broadway/Swing/Middle Michael Cover). Charles is invigorated by sharing is accumulated knowledge with the next generation of performers in hopes that they might become empowered by movement, technique, and discipline.
